Sleep isn’t something you force.
It’s something your body allows when the right conditions exist.


The WAY Better Sleep Protocol follows four simple steps that train your body to restore those conditions naturally: 



1️⃣ TRACK

Understand how your body sleeps.

Before sleep can improve, you must understand what your body is actually doing at night.

In this step, you begin tracking the signals your body is sending , your sleep patterns, nervous system stress levels, and recovery rhythms.


Using tools like the Sleep Avatar assessment and sleep metrics, you uncover what may be keeping your brain in protection mode.


Because you can’t change what you don’t understand.

Tracking gives you clarity.
Clarity creates direction.


2️⃣ REWIRE

Train your nervous system to shut down.

Most sleep problems are not caused by a lack of sleep tips — they are caused by a nervous system that has learned to stay alert.

In this step, you retrain your body to shift out of stress mode and into recovery mode.

Using simple techniques like SPARE breathing, scent anchoring, and nervous system regulation, you teach your body how to release the tension of the day.

Sleep stops being something you chase.

It becomes something your nervous system allows.


3️⃣ ALIGN

Align your body. Align your sleep environment

Sleep begins with structure.

Your spine and nervous system must feel supported and safe for your brain to fully let go.


Unfortunately, most sleep advice skips this critical step. Many programs jump straight to “optimizing sleep” with supplements, sleep hygiene tips, or gadgets, without first preparing the body for sleep itself.


But you cannot optimize sleep in a position that is quietly destroying it.

You cannot improve sleep in the same position that is reinforcing stress and tension in the body every night.


In this step, you customize your sleep position and environment based on your Sleep Avatar and body mechanics.


Using Dr. Martone’s Corrective Sleep Position, sleep positioning is no longer about comfort alone — it begins with alignment in mind. By placing the body in a position that supports the natural structure of the spine, tension begins to release and the nervous system can finally relax.


When alignment improves, the body feels safe.
When the body feels safe, it can let go.


And when the body lets go, sleep becomes deeper, more restorative, and truly healing.


4️⃣ OPTIMIZE

Master the conditions that create deep sleep.

Now that you have your sleep setup correct, it’s time to focus on getting the deepest, most restorative sleep possible.


Once your body is tracking properly, your nervous system is calmer, and your structure is aligned, you can begin refining the quality of your sleep.
